A Powerful Strategy to Flood Your Office with Medical Doctor Referrals

How would you like to increase your referrals from medical physicians?

Be honest, are you getting many referrals from medical doctors?

Are you?

If you are like most chiropractors, I would have to say probably not.

You see most chiropractors are making a HUGE mistake trying to fight for the 8-10% of the population seeking chiropractic services when YOU can go after the 90% that is "virgin" territory.

Let me explain.

On an average day, how many people are sitting in medical doctor offices suffering with back, neck or whatever pain?

You know.. a BUNCH!

And how many of those patients are you seeing?

Probably few to none.

Listen to what I have to say, the doctor that people see for back pain, neck pain and any pain are "primary care physicians and internists. PERIOD!

It ain't us! (excuse my grammar)

Let me ask you, would you rather tap into the 90% virgin new patient market seen by MDs or fight for the 8-10% of the new patient market that 95% of your colleagues are fighting for?

Well, let me tell you, there is nothing like having medical doctors refer patients to your office.

When a patient is referred to my office by their medical doctor, I must admit it is a "beautiful thing"

I love patients who are referred by their medical doctors.

They are a joy to work with and you know what? Even before you see the patient, this patient is totally sold on you. Think about. Their beloved medical doctor has recommended YOU.

What does this tell you?

Well for one thing, this patient knows that his or her doctor trusts you and most important this doctor believes you can help them.

This is powerful!

Unfortunately most of your colleagues are wasting a ton of money on cheap advertising, mall shows, begging attorneys (who by the way do give a hoot about you).

If you want to position yourself as the "doctor to see" in your community, listen to what I am about to tell you.

With me so far?

Ok, here is the secret weapon that 99% of the chiropractors NEVER do and I promise you, if you do this one thing you WILL have a flood of new patients from your local medical doctors

Are you ready?

The secret is:

Send a short summary report on EVERY new patient and all existing patients.

Let me explain: What is the ONLY thing that medical doctors are obligated to do?

Is it read that slick newsletter you plan to send them?

No way!

Guess where that great newsletter you were planning to send him ends up?

In the garbage!

But.. guess where your medical report ends up?

You can bet it won't be in the garbage. You have to understand that medical doctors are obligated to read ALL medical records on their patients. That is their primary responsibility. They are legally and ethically responsible to stay on top of their patient’s health.

And guess what the medical doctor will do with your medical report?

Yep, you are right. He or she will read it and file it away and make it part of the permanent case file.

Now don't get me wrong, don't expect to get referrals the first time you send that medical report.

However, as you begin to send out more and more reports, you can be rest assured that your name will soon be known around town by the medical establishment.

Would you rather be known as the doctor in the mall doing spinal screenings or the best doc in town to send medical referrals to?

I hope you want to be the doctor magnet and not the mall show clown.

Sorry for my wise-crack remark. But the truth is you will NEVER gain the kind of credibility when you do mall shows or worse Walmart screenings.

You may be asking if this will be time consuming?

Yes and no.

Yes it may take a little extra time. But I can promise you that the time you take to do this simple action step of sending a report WILL pay HUGE dividends in the near future. And the best part it will continue to pay and pay.

I will send you a template that I use in the new few days.

Again, I cannot emphasize how powerful this is.

It is simply common accepted procedure for medical doctors to receive reports and READ THEM.

You might as well join this accepted procedure and begin to reap the rewards.

Let me tell you how to get started today.

I want you to go through the last 3-6 months of new patients and begin to ask ALL your patients for the name of their primary medical doctor.

Simply tell your patient that you want to send their doctor and short update on their progress.

99% of your patients will be impressed.

Of course for your new patients make sure you have a place on your new patient form asking for the name of their primary physician.

After you have examined and treated the new patient say two or three times, then simply type up a short and concise medical report and mail it to their doctor.

By the way forget a cover letter.

Just send the report by itself.

Of course when you begin to get referrals then you should send a cover letter thanking the doctor for the referral.

But when you are making the first move, DO NOT try to butter up to the doctor with a cover letter. Just send the report like 99% of other traditional doctors do.
